Here is research worth sharing! It confirms what we already know--movement matters!
In this study, the researchers analyzed the movements of pre-term babies and made follow-up assessments when the children were 8 years old. They found that the quantity and quality of movement in infancy is strongly associated with "better performance for general cognition, attention, working memory, executive function and motor function" at 8 years old.
Here's a headline-worthy quote from the study:
"Favorable early motor repertoire of infants born <30 weeks is strongly associated with improved cognitive and motor performance at 8 years."
